Over the past decade, our superb, university-based medical center has grown significantly and has been recognized as a pillar of clinical and academic excellence on Long Island. At Stony Brook University Medical Center, residents are provided a unique and outstanding experience that allows them to build the skills necessary to become proficient in both internal medicine and pediatrics. In the Department of Medicine, residents will encounter a closed-faculty system on the inpatient service; enjoy an exceptional ambulatory primary care environment with a newly developed electronic medical record; appreciate the value of the state-of-the-art cardiac and oncologic technologies in our advanced heart and ambulatory oncology centers; be afforded the privilege of working in the sole bone-marrow transplant unit in Suffolk County, and much, much more. The bulk of residents’ training in the Department of Pediatrics will take place in Stony Brook Long Island Children’s Hospital—the only university-based, dedicated children’s hospital on Long Island. Here, our residents gain a wealth of knowledge as they work alongside a team of leading general and subspecialty physicians, nurses, and research scientists. Read More | ||
