Welcome to the Stony Brook Med Peds Program

Liliana TiqueTo Future Med-Peds Colleagues,

Thank you for visiting the Stony Brook University Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency website.

Having graduated from the Med-Peds program and seeing the strengths that our Med-Peds training can bring, I invite you to review our website to see the amazing things that our residents have done, and the program that we have developed over the past two decades. Since 1992, Stony Brook has trained Med-Peds residents to become excellent primary care physicians, hospitalists, and subspecialists. We are very proud of our residents, and we continue to work hard and do our best to create the best training experience possible for our residents.

A few highlights include our new Med-Peds ambulatory rotation, including clinical experiences tailored to your educational needs, we participate in the care of a long-term care facility for young adults with developmental disabilities, and our Adult CF Center. We are fortunate to have our very own Med-Peds Continuity Clinic practice at the Stony Brook Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Practice in Islip, NY. Please look at our carefully designed curriculum, and most importantly, our popular Med-Peds Conference on Wednesday afternoon designed as a protected time dedicated only for Med-Peds residents.

Our Med- Peds program will guide you to become an excellent primary care physician, hospitalist, subspecialist, intensivist, and educator, supported by a strong curriculum, faculty, administrators, as well as fellow amazing residents.

Located in Long Island, NY, you will be able to take advantage of our beautiful scenery, trails, and beaches. Stony Brook is just a short train ride to NYC.

We are very fortunate and grateful for the support from our parent departments of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, our chairs Dr. Yang and Dr. Milana, and the Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Wertheim. Their leadership and support in the education and training has made the experience for our residents truly exceptional.

I look forward to meeting and introducing you to our Med-Peds family. We hope that you will also be a part of the dynamic growth here at Stony Brook!

Sincerely,
