The Division of Gynecology and General Obstetrics provides a wide range of services for women from childhood to menopause. Available services include care for pediatric and adolescent issues, sexually transmitted disease screening, preconceptual counseling, prenatal and delivery care. The division has a Urogynecology Section with physicians who are expert in the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Sponsored by the division is a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery that centers on performance of laparoscopic and robotic surgeries to treat endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic organ prolapse. The division also provides sonographic services including the latest in 3-D sonohysterography. We also offer office hysteroscopy with Essure Sterilization for patients who no longer desire childbearing.
In addition to patient care the division places a special emphasisis on the education of medical students, residents and fellows as well as expanding our research interests which focus on educational research techniques using simulators and on surgical procedures using the laparoscopic and robotic platforms.
