CLINICAL PRACTICE: Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology. Subspecialties in Cytopathology with experties in performance and interpretation of Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy (FNAB) and Core Biopsy with or without ultrasound guidance; and Surgical Pathology with extensive experience in Head/Neck and Pulmonary Pathology. Strong interest in early Cancer detection and predictive tumor  marker exploration in cytology samples.

RESEARCH SUMMARY:

  • Advanced therapeutic monitoring of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma via FNA and molecular studies
  • Study of lung lesions: correlation between cytomorphology and molecular markers in various types of lung lesions including benign, hyperplasia, atypical adenomatous hyperplasia and carcinomas
  • miRNA detection and analysis in lung cancers
  • Applying molecular studies in routine cytology practice
  • Cytological and molecular classification of lung cancers
  • Pilot Study to Evaluate miRNA in FNA materials from archived thyroid lesions
  • Current Research - Detection of Metastases in Lymph Nodes Using Quantitative-Ultrasound
