Clinical Faculty Recruitment: Dr. Daniel Mockler

Dr. Dan Mockler has been recruited through a national search as a new Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology. Dr. Mocker is a graduate of Stony Brook University (BS in Biochemistry), has earned an MS in Pharmacology from St. John’s University and an MD from Ross University School of Medicine. He trained in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and most recently (June 2014), completed a surgical pathology fellowship in our department. As one of our top residents, Dr. Mockler received the Outstanding Resident Award (2012-2013), served as Chief Resident, and was involved in research related to cancer biomarker discovery. He also trained in laser capture microdissection and in Anatomic Pathology Informatics.

Dr. Mockler will provide service in general surgical pathology with subspecialty expertise in the surgical pathology of the gastrointestinal tract.  In addition, he will have important roles in teaching medical students, training residents and fellows, and in research related to digital pathology and cancer biomarkers.
