Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Division Education

The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery plays a central role in the education of our medical students and general surgery residents. In addition, it offers two separate training tracks for vascular surgery certification:

Both vascular surgery training programs were reviewed in 2010 by the Residency Review Committee and received full (5-year) accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

Surgical Selective

For fourth-year medical students, the selective course is designed to introduce them to the basic clinical practice of vascular surgery. There is exposure to a broad range of vascular pathology. The students participate on daily rounds, operative procedures and attend all clinical conferences (see here).

By the end of the two-week course, our students should feel comfortable with a basic knowledge in the clinical approach to vascular pathology and pathophysiology.
