From New York City, you can take the train to the Stony Brook train station which lets you off on campus. You would then take a free campus bus to the hospital.

Take the Long Island Expressway (LIE, I-495) (Eastbound from the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Manhattan or the Throgs Neck Bridge or Whitestone Bridge in Queens ) to Exit 62 - Nicolls Road North (Route 97) 8½ miles. The main entrance to Stony Brook University Medical Center and The Health Sciences is on the right. Once you make this right, make your second left and follow the road around to the hospital parking garage. Walk into the main lobby of the hospital and proceed towards the cafeteria. You will see escalators to the right of the entrance of the cafeteria. At this point, you are on level 5 of the Health Sciences Center. Proceed down to level 4 via the escalators. Before you get to the next escalator, you will see signs on your right for the Department of Family Medicine.
