Dr. Jie Yang received her Ph.D. in statistics and post-doc training from University of Florida.  Before coming to Stony Brook University, she was a faculty member in the Department of Biostatistics at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  She has collaborated with clinicians and basic scientists from different fields for clinical trial designs and statistical data analysis.  Her published peer-reviewed papers appear in both statistical and medical journals.  She is interested in the development and application of statistical models to address public health and biomedical research questions.  Dr. Yang directs the Biostatistical Consulting Core, providing statistical support in study design and data analysis to all faculty, residents, fellows and students in the School of Medicine, researchers from Stony Brook University and outside of Stony Brook University.  Courses that she teaches or has taught include statistics for life sciences for graduate students from basic science departments in Stony Brook Medicine, biostatistics courses in the Graduate Program of Public Health and clinical trial design in the Clinical Research Training Program.
