Chemical Biology Training Program

Students who join the research groups of Microbiology and Immunology training faculty who are also members of the Chemical Biology Training Program (CBTP; see list below), and who would like to receive training at the biochemistry: chemistry interface, may apply to the CBTP.  In addition to the courses required by the Microbiology and Immunology Graduate Program, students in the CBTP take two additional classes in chemical biology (CHE 542 and CHE 543) and participate in a spring seminar course and annual retreat of the Institute of Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery.  While in the CBTP, students continue to meet the requirements of the Microbiology and Immunology Program and the degree that is conferred once all requirements have been met is a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology (students who joined the program prior to Fall 2021 will receive a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, the former name of the Ph.D. program).
