Prior Resident Testimonials

Hany Nasr, MD  Class of 2007

"My training at Stony Brook left me with great hands on experience, passing my boards and getting into my interventional fellowship. Now I have a great practice and would love to hire graduates from my program if they want be on the west coast, California "

pmr1Jim Inzerillo, MD  Class of 2009

“The Stony Brook PM&R program was a great experience that gave me a thorough preparation for my first position after graduating from the program as Medical Director of an Acute Rehabilitation Unit, as well as preparing me to open my own private practice of Physiatry. The training was outstanding, patient exposure could not have been any more broad based, and faculty and staff were wonderful to work with. I whole-heartedly recommend this program to anyone interested in pursuing a career in Physiatry.”

Jamal Khan, D.O. Class of 2019

“I chose Stony Brook PM&R because of the small knit feel of the program while also having the resources of a university hospital.  It was clear to me from rotating here as a student and then interviewing for residency that the residents felt prepared for practice right out of training.  Also as someone who was interested in pain medicine, I felt confident that Stony Brook afforded me the experiences and opportunity to pursue that goal.”

Peter C. Lascarides, DO Class of 2015

Residency at Stony Brook included some of my best and most meaningful years in my training. I was provided with a strong foundation in Physiatry, and developed my understanding and ability to work with a team, ultimately leading as a Chief Resident. For me, the opportunities to rotate in various pain management settings provided me the experience necessary to succeed after graduating, matching into a competitive NYC Pain Fellowship, and since working with some of the most respected clinicians in the country. Incredibly fortunate and proud to be a graduate from this program!
