Title: Development and application of Pathomics methodology to characterize myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) in bone marrow biopsies

I am a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, specializing in Pathology Informatics. I first became involved in research during my undergraduate studies in applied mathematics and physics at Stony Brook University, and later while completing an MS in Health Informatics at Weill Cornell Medicine. Now back at Stony Brook, I work with Dr. Rajarsi Gupta and focus on how computational pathology methodologies can be utilized to characterize the bone marrow microenvironment. As part of the Scholars in Biomedical Sciences program, I intend to apply deep learning techniques for tasks like cellular segmentation, mutation prediction, and fibrosis indexing. Ultimately, my goal is to develop a computational approach for assessing disease progression risk and predicting survival in patients with hematologic malignancies.
