The 2024 New York Ultrasound Olympics for Medical Students

What is the New York Ultrasound Olympics for Medical Students? On Saturday, February 10th, this inaugural "Zonoslam" competition hosted sixteen teams from four different medical schools (including our own Renaissance School of Medicine) for a half-day event that included image acquisition and interpretation skills, physics and artifacts knowledge, anatomy and pathophysiology, and more. Teams competed through a series of ultrasound challenges that tested both conceptual and hands-on skills.

The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce that Dr. Sahar Ahmad will assume the position of Interim Chief of the Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine division, Renaissance School of Medicine, Stony Brook University. After 25 years of serving as Chief, Dr. Gerald Smaldone will step down from the chief position to return to the faculty.

Promotion of Paul S. Richman, M.D. to Clinical Professor of Medicine
