Characteristics Dietetic Internship (have prior graduate degree or 9 credits or less to completion of self-identified master's degree) Dietetic Internship with Coordinated MS in Nutrition MS in Professional Nutrition Practice (ACEND future graduate program)
Who is eligible If you already have a DPD Verification Statement & graduate degree (or within 9 credits of completing a graduate degree) If you have a DPD Verification Statement If you have a DPD Verification Statement OR an undergrad degree & take appropriate pre-requisite courses
Pre-requisites
  • DPD Verification Statement
  • Master's degree (or documentation from the university/college where you are enrolled in a graduate program confirming no more than 9 credits remain) 
DPD Verification Statement

DPD Verification Statement OR baccalaureate degree with following courses:

  • Human Biology, 3 cr.
  • Statistics, 3 cr.
  • Within 5 years of start of program:
    • Chemistry, 6 cr., inclusive of biochemistry
    • Physiology, 3 cr.
    • Microbiology, 3 cr.
  • Once these prerequisites are satisfied, applicants can be conditionally admitted into the program pending successful completion, with a grade of B or better, of the following courses (These courses must be taken in the summer prior to admission into the MS in PNP which begins in the fall term):
    • HFN 506: Food Science Systems, 3 cr.
    • HFN 507: Nutrition Physiology and Metabolism, 3 cr.
    • HFN 508: Concepts in Nutrition Therapy, 3 cr.
