Hoang-Lan Nguyen, Ph.D.
Research Scientist
e-mail: Hoang-Lan.Nguyen@stonybrook.edu

Dr. Nguyen received a Ph.D. from Columbia University in the laboratory of Dr. J. Chloe Bulinsky, where she focused on characterizing the in vivo functions of a microtubule-associated protein, MAP4, in cultured cells.   Dr. Nguyen's post-doctoral work was with Dr. Sidney Strickland at Stony Brook, studying the plasmin/fibrin pathway in spinal cord injury and in Type II diabetes.

Dr. Nguyen was subsequently Senior Scientist at Cornerstone Pharmaceuticals, where she played key roles in developing two new drugs, which have been FDA approved, for testing in human clinical trials.

Dr. Nguyen is currently studying the cancer cell metastasis and the roles played by MMP14 and Wnt-5a in metastasis.
