NameBassil Said, MBBCh
Hometown: Cairo, Egypt
Medical School: Cairo University School of Medicine
Residency: Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, NY
Hobbies/fun facts: Kayaking and woodworking
Why Stony Brook: For me a cancer center with highly specialized oncologists and hematologist was a very important character of the fellowship program I want to join. This is something I found in StonyBrook Cancer Center along with a strong malignant hematology and a stem cell transplant program which is my primary clinical interest. The many beaches on long island and being very close to New York City for weekend fun is a big plus about training at Stony Brook without having to live in the city. The program has grown significantly during my time here and I believe will continue to grow even stronger in the coming years.
