Fellowship Training Overview

First Year of Fellowship Training                                 

·      4.5 months: Combined Hematology and Oncology Inpatient Service at University Hospital

·      2.5 months: Hematologic Malignancies and Transplant (LLT).

·      2 months: Bootcamp and Core Electives (Palliative care, radiation oncology, hematopathology, and blood bank)

·      1 month: Consultative Service at VA Medical Center.

·       2 months: Research, Electives, Vacation

Second Year of Fellowship Training

·      2.5 months: Combined Hematology and Oncology Inpatient service at University Hospital.

·      2 months: Hematologic Malignancies and Transplant (LLT).

·      3.5 month: Consultative Service at VA Medical Center.

·      4 months: Research, Electives, Vacation

Third Year of Fellowship Training  

·      1 month: Combined Hematology and Oncology Inpatient Service at University Hospital.

·      2 weeks: Hematologic Malignancies and Transplant (LLT).

·      4 months: Consultative Service at VA Medical Center.

·      6-7 months: Research, electives, vacation


*Research and electives are tailored to meet fellows' individual goals.  Additional rotations in palliative care, radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology, neuro oncology, hematopathology, blood bank and transfusion medicine are also available.
